If a church does not want to marry same sex people, they should have the RIGHT to deny. However, churches that see things differently should conform to their belief on that matter. The President didn't say he was adopting something in law for ALL CHURCHES to perform the marriage RITE for gay people, so what is the big fuss? Either you will marry gay people in YOUR church, or you won't. They are going to get married one way or the other ANYWAY, so what's the big damn deal???

The Messiah did not believe in love over doctrine. What Christ did at Calvary was definitely due to the Father's great love but it was in total conformity with doctrine. That being the doctrine of Atonement for which he came to be for His people. Separating love from doctrine is an egregious error.

I'm not a Christian or a Catholic, heck, I'm not sure I even believe in god, but there is no one on this earth that can or should deny these words of love and compassion for our fellows, regardless of personal beliefs. Thank you for the well thought out commentary on this subject. I can only give the utmost respect to anyone who can take their convictions and both examine and apply them to the world around them in such a tolerant way. Much love for this eloquent speaker!
