seriously, thank you for going over this rudimentary technique! i've been playing on and off for 11 years (I'm mainly a bass player) and have yet to get this technique solid. not being able to rebound was the only thing that kept me from graduating to snare drum (from bass drum) whenever I was in marching band in hs.
