  • I wish we had more singers of this caliber today. Kids these days think country music is Taylor Swift, and Lady Antibellum, or how ever you spell it! What a shame! Bring back Hank Sr. and R. Stanley, Bob Monroe, And the other MEN and WOMEN who were REAL Country!!! Instead of these modern day "Momma;s Boys and Girl's" we have today!

  • I was born in 1962 an country music has always been a big part of my life.

Between roy acufe, hank sr,i still grew up listening to the grand ole opry.there

is alot of country music today that i listen to,but in the most part I think that country

music like our country needs to get back to god an love, not sex an booze. kenneth.c.hylton.

  • @74034brandon Hey Brandon, I don't dispute you think your father wrote it, however if that is true and you want my father to make it right it's about 40 years too late for it....you trust your father and i trust mine. I was there when Eddie Noack, Sonny Burns and my dad were putting it together for George Jones. I don't know where they got the ideal, but if what you say is true...hold your head high and God Bless you and your family.

  • my dad is the real one that wrote this song he wrote it and sent it in for a song writting contest when he was around 15 years old and never heard anything back about it and did not know about copyright either then he heard it on the radio with george jones singing it. So if your father says he wrote it he knows the truth of how he obtained that song and should make it right.

  • I just want to say my dad is the real one who wrote this song years ago he wrote it and sent it in for a song writting contest he was around 15 years old at the time he never heard back from anybody but he heard his song he had written on the radio and at the time their was nothing he could do about it he did not know about copyright at his age but they guy who takes credit for writting this song knows the truth of where he got it. from my dad Ronald Jackson

  • My Uncle Mack used to ask me to sing this song for him and everytime he would cry. I asked why did you ask me to sing it if it was gonna make you cry? I'll never forget him.

  • @jalsante75 LIE! im 17 and love old country singers its the best.

  • I am proud to say my father wrote this song and it still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. What a great singer George Jones was and I am thankful to have been blessed with meeting him through the relationship he and my father had.

  • wish they would still play, the old country greats, and keep them going.God bless them all.

  • simply beautiful I love this song
