@74034brandon Hey Brandon, I don't dispute you think your father wrote it, however if that is true and you want my father to make it right it's about 40 years too late for it....you trust your father and i trust mine. I was there when Eddie Noack, Sonny Burns and my dad were putting it together for George Jones. I don't know where they got the ideal, but if what you say is true...hold your head high and God Bless you and your family.

my dad is the real one that wrote this song he wrote it and sent it in for a song writting contest when he was around 15 years old and never heard anything back about it and did not know about copyright either then he heard it on the radio with george jones singing it. So if your father says he wrote it he knows the truth of how he obtained that song and should make it right.

My Uncle Mack used to ask me to sing this song for him and everytime he would cry. I asked why did you ask me to sing it if it was gonna make you cry? I'll never forget him.

I am proud to say my father wrote this song and it still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. What a great singer George Jones was and I am thankful to have been blessed with meeting him through the relationship he and my father had.

wish they would still play, the old country greats, and keep them going.God bless them all.

simply beautiful I love this song

I wish we had more singers of this caliber today. Kids these days think country music is Taylor Swift, and Lady Antibellum, or how ever you spell it! What a shame! Bring back Hank Sr. and R. Stanley, Bob Monroe, And the other MEN and WOMEN who were REAL Country!!! Instead of these modern day "Momma;s Boys and Girl's" we have today!
