I own a 2008 FJ, dude hats off to you for fording water all the way up over the hood. I don't have the balls for that. Have you noticed any problems at all with the engine?

As long as you don't stop in the middle of the water and let the water fill up under the hood and surround the engine, you will have no problems. The engine compartment takes a few seconds to fill once you stop in deep water. So knowing this do as I did, DON'T FRIGGIN STOP in the middle of deep water. As you enter the water your front end actually pushes the water away, like a snow plow with snow. It takes a few quick seconds for the water on the sides to flood in drown the engine compartment.

So, keep your time in deep water to a "quickie" AND DON'T STOP! Or get a snorkel!
I prefer to use my jet ski's if I'm gonna spend any more time in the water. Snorkels are not needed there. : jbblevins400, yes I know where the CAI is and also where I ran all my axle, trans and misc.... vents have been relocated to.

I did take it into Toyota for a previously scheduled major maintenance after that and there were no signs anywhere of water intrusion, axles or anywhere else.
