God bless you Nathan and Nathan's Mom. He is so beautiful. I hate the helpless feeling of watching your child go through this. You just want to kiss the boo boo away, but you can't.

I see this suffering and my heart moves into my throat.
That it is in my power to do something to alleviate this suffering is one of the reasons why I'm studying medicine.

@Maestrp37388 My niece has seizures and Im trying to learn as much as I can about her condition. They usually arent in any pain and only cradling their head and comfort words are the only thing you can do when a person is having a seizure. If it's not a spasm--then place them on their side -make sure there's no music or no noise around. After the seizure is over the person could be reeally sleepy or go to sleep right away.

I did not mention any names but I put you on our church prayer list today, may the Good Lord be with you when this happens.
I'm watching this stuff because I am a music teacher, and thus I come in cotact with alot of people each day. I recently found out one of my students is on nitro for a heart condition and it made me think that I need to know a little about emergency first aid, so I have one question, is the patient usually in any pain afterwards and is holding them and cradling their head all you can do to make them comfortable until help arrives?

Everyone is slightly different when they have seizures and my advice would be to ensure they are in a safe place, away from anything that could harm them while they are thrashing about, if possible put them in the recovery position or at least their head to the side (if its not in spasm) to avoid choking on saliva. Comfort and privacy are always good and call an ambulance once they are safe. Its great that you are finding out about this stuff .. well done !!

You said he is not awake but to me he looks awake o.O

@KaiserVadin He is asleep when the seizure starts and is unconcious during the seizure and afterwards he comes round for a minute or so and then falls back to sleep.

is he still alive at the end

@Jaxxon10 Yes he is still alive, the seizures don't kill him they are just bursts of electricity in the brain that he has every day and he recovers afterwards and is just usually left a bit sleepy.
