A tutorial on fixing an xbox360 controller joystick. If your control stick doesn't spring back to the center try this. It takes a while but it works.

Very helpful, but as a father of 2 girls, I'm not sure I'd allow my child to breathe in lead smoke so freely.  At least put a mask on her or use an iron with a smoke absorber. I don't even solder unless the house is empty, lead is a huge cancer-causer. Just saying...

@cc178700cc I agree. Always use lead free solder and if working on a board from a country that might not comply with lead free rules (ROHS) don't breathe the smoke when desoldering.

i also have another question, if i tried to do this with the left analog stick the trigger would prevent me from unsoldering the stick, any idea on how to get the trigger off?

@kargo27 sodder in the US and Canada and solder everywhere else, see cambridge-org dictionary to hear both. Did Soder the brand name (soder wick) stick and became part of the language. anyway solder will do for youtube

@cc178700cc Um... lead doesnt cause cancer... it causes lead poisoning.

And also... lead-free solder is easy to find.
