Donner Pass: Southern Pacific available from November 24! Set in the early 1990s during the later days of Southern Pacific operation, Donner Pass: Southern Pacific is the longest route we have ever created for Train Simulator 2012, and puts you in the cabs of 5 different Southern Pacific diesel locomotives (including the SD40T-2 Tunnel Motor) as you test your driving skills on this demanding route. Running from Roseville Yard, CA to Sparks Yard in Reno, NV, the route takes you high up into the Sierra Nevada range and along the infamous Donner Pass itself, complete with its tunnels and snow sheds and of course magnificent scenery. With hours of driving pleasure -- and a few tough challenges along the way -- Donner Pass: Southern Pacific is a 'must-have' for all fans of North American railroading. Includes Southern Pacific GP9, SD40-2, SD40T-2, Dash 9 and SW1500 and good weather/bad weather scenario choices.

    plz help me

  • Are the dash 9's add on pack or do they come in the game.

  • Can someone please point me to a good "How to begin" forum or website? I am lost in all this. I am a flight simmer and have got hundreds of addons for it over the years, but have a brother that love trains inside and out. I am building a comp for him for a combined birthday\Christmas gift and would like to surprise him with either MSTS or this but cant seem to find a starting point on making sense of what is the more popular, or normal thing in this group. Thanks guys, appreciate any help. PM me

  • Nice, but the SP never had any SD40-2s

  • i think another thing RS needs to do is make it so that the sand supply is limited. THATS to unrealistic.

Like the UP engines on Cajon should be BNSF mostly.

  • @railsimulatordotcom

Thanks for replying to my request for snow on railway wagons. I really need to fix my TS2012 so I can get some of these new addons... Looks great!

I have a similar computer spec to yours, although with a GTX460, and get about 40fps in most cases. There are only occasional drop outs to 25fps. This includes Horshoe Curve and WCML. Try turning your shadow setting to low and set your AA option to MLAA+MSAx4 (or x8). Some of us have found that this AA setting actually gives a 10fps increase over the lower settings.

  • love the snow effects, the snow on the track effects and snow on the train itself
