polytoxic dance theatre
Inspired by the traditions of the Pacific, the guts of physical performance and the crimes of pop-culture, Polytoxic serves up a signature style like no other. Presenting a diverse style of work that covers dance-theatre, physical cabaret
and visual design, they bring a comic, distinct and energetic edge to dance theatre.
Driven by co-directors Lisa Faalafi, Fez Faanana and Leah Shelton, Polytoxic has hard-earned their local acclaim
and are eagerly forging national and international recognition. The recent increase of company members has
upped the ante from 3 to 6 iconic performers versed in dance, theatre and circus. The company has developed a
style that borrows from each of their intricate backgrounds, performance history and physicality creating a twisted,
exotic and yet accessible Polytoxic blend. The movement and artistry of Polytoxic pays homage to Pacific tradition,
Aussie humour, new fangled choreography, delightful theatrics, conceptual costume, slick set design and good ol
entertainment.
