What lesson can we take away from this almighty balls up? Next time a mad dictator wants to murder 6m Jews or 1m Kurds/Arabs, let him carry on. Or tell Amnesty Iinternational Just don't expect us to get involved.

@AUSTIN200916 I agree with your comment wholeheartedly. You are absolutely correct. I live in the UK, and, as with our US cousins, we have all sorts of problems. But, as you point out, we are essentially a stable, functioning, peaceful nation that, for sure, others' from around the world choose to come and set up home. There are those too, unfortunately, who chose to come in order to exploit our freedom:- but our security services soon weed them out in accordance with our laws.

I am convinced that ALL religious people are mentally ill! The idea of a God is wholeheartedly childish and patently ridiculous! The cosmos works quite independently of the human species. We are all but part of the food-chain...we are worm food...there in no afterlife...no ghosties...no heaven nor hell...just sentient' oblivion. Religious people are holding back the progress (scientifically) of the human species. All deeply religious nations are clearly backward' and ill-developed'.
