@neckface1 not all grad students....but anyway she was acting agressive...it doesnt mean that shes a romantic by responding like that ...true it shows that people are just different. Whether it has to do with intelligence or mere experience. Man i love that part where nicholson says "where do you get the ass to tell anybody about class..." lol

Entertaining scene, but the Nicholson character turned out to be as cold and full of shit as the Ayn Rand-ish intellectual, so the movie was lose/lose in the end.

I have definitely met people who talk like her, I call them grad students. I thought Nicholson's criticism was valid as she tried to dehumanize people intellectually while he dehumanized her personally and emotionally. There are many different kinds of intelligence was the point I understood.
