Shear Madness. Just because I dont get a three inch long Tie Bar, I decided to make it and then came different ideas to do it. This upload is a condensation of work done during about 24 days, each day between one to one and half hours.
The First Sitting was of 9 hours. Many of the interesting parts where I became frustrated and tired to get the desired result, and the activity of facing the bar on the 600 and 1000 grade sand-water paper on the glass plate, after cutting to the required length, could not be properly edited for the length and time.
My original idea to have identical grooves on the cufflinks, (as on the bar) could not be achieved as the spherical surface was difficult to cut straight line groove. So with only two grooves on it I forced my self to be satisfied.
Finally in these days I made One set in pure silver, One from the piece of damaged table ware; which was of steel wire rope piece and TwoTie bars with artificial jewelery item
Some artificial Jewelery items like Bracelet, I dismantled, took the requried piece and straightened them flat. This caused some of the stones on them to jump out. This particular work was interesting, but could not be recorded.
Any how now learned so in the next attempt they will be more flat and without any damages.
Feel like buying a mini lathe and a mini milling machine for such hobby works !!
I enjoyed working on these and made my fingers sore, blistered.
Hope to continue making more in future for my friends.

There is an error in the caption at around 6:30; The title Hand Buffing got miss-located to non-relevant point.
This upload though Boring may be entertaining for the people in this profession, and other hobby workshop enthusiast.
I never came across a goldsmith who uses a right angle, as mostly they do not need nor is it necessary for the type of works they do. No grudge.
Thanks
RR

Let me get some time for this Nick.

Which one you liked. The silver strip with 3 copper wires, and the cufflinks with 2 ?

Let me know. This took me in my leisure time about two months or so, working step by step. Let this be my pleasure. Welcome.
