Czerwone Gitary - Biały krzyż (The White Cross)

I thought that the next translated song which I'll upload, would be "Kryzysowa narzeczona" ("A Critical Fiancee") by Lady Pank, but in the end I chose this one.

Czerwone Gitary (The Red Guitars) are on the most well-known Polish bands and one of the biggest stars on Polish music scene in 60s and 70s. They are very often called Polish The Beatles, due to their popularity, influence on other bands in that period and some similarities between the members of these bands (for example the lead singer and composer, Krzysztof Klenczon, just like John Lennon, died in the tragic circumstances - in his case that was a car accident). The band continues its activity to the present day, but without Klenczon and Seweryn Krajewski (the second singer and composer), who had a serious argument with other band members, it's not the same as the old one. They still have some quite good songs, but they certainly don't equal with the ones made with Klenczon and/or Krajewski.

"Biały Krzyż" ("The White Cross") is the one of their most famous and most beautiful songs. It was written by Klenczon, whose father was a partisan during World War II http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_resistance_movement_in_World_War_II , and ofcourse was performed in the memory of all Polish soldiers who fought for Poland, especially for the ones, who sacrificed their lifes for the sake of their Motherland. At the end of every performance of this song during the concerts, Klenczon was laying the white flowers on the scene.

Wow! How did you find this vid among Hetalia vids? ^^

That's a bit funny, cause I'm also a Healia fan - if you'll check my other YT accounts, TheGladka & EwaGladka, you'll find Hetalia vids there (mainly about Poland, but about other nation-tans too) among my translations of Polish songs ;)

  • My favourite song, but the translation of the lyrics can be slightly improved (English is more "compact" than Polish). Anyway, an excellent job. Congratulations!

  • @DumniPolacy Wiem, prawda? Nie mogę nawet powiedzieć, że angielskie słowa mówią.

  • @GinsFanGirl some world music experts say that 'Red guitars' (Czerwone Gitary) been as good as Beatles. And could do same fame career as those if not bloody russian communism in Poland. This music couldn't gone through the borders. Not in English lnag. for sure...Thank U very m uch for ur comm :)
