  • this video shows us the general view of utilitarianism, but they forgot about the individual point of view(the one's who is not using the utilities properly) and this is why utilitarianism can't be fully understood .

  • i don't think this is a very good way of explaining it..

    the general jist of Utilitarianism, as i understand it, is that any action is justifiable, by the amount of pleasure or displeasure, which would ensue as a result (directly, or indirectly). Obviously, if the act leads to more pleasure than displeasure, then it is justified. If it leads to more displeasure (or pain, as Mill called it), than pleasure, then it is unjustified.
