Opie Ortiz is an American artist and musician from Long Beach, California. He is most famous for creating the artwork for several Sublime albums, the most recognized one of course being the psychedelic sun artwork on Sublime's "40 Oz to Freedom" album. Opie is also the artist who put the large "Sublime" tattoo across Brad Nowell's back. Opie is continually creating new art, and his accomplishments continue to amaze and inspire. Those who know his art regard him as a creative genius; Opie's talent and style as a tattoo artist have earned him a legendary reputation.

Opie was a member of the bands Long Beach Dub Allstars & Dubcat. Most recently he's formed a new group WarChurch.

Opie is also a dedicated family man.

If you've been watching my videos for a while, you might recognize the music on this video because of its similarity to the outtro music I created for DibbersPage, a short whistling song called "My Happy Place." I always intended to do a long version of that song, and after much inspiration and effort, here it is! This is perhaps my most complicated whistling song yet,

  • @existentaeinutila and yes... the music is good hahah

  • @existentaeinutila it's aesthetically amazing artwork. it would be incredibly pompous to say that all visual art should have some complex metaphor so kids can try to seem intelligent by coming up with all these bold conclusions about what the author was trying to tell us.

  • but the music is very good ;)

  • Not that I would like to comment negative but that is not art work, most of what I see there are common themes, so no really complex ideas that would bend my mind.

  • WB, I'm an optimist too! That's probably why we get along so well. No fears here around "death" (not to give the wrong impression, but I actually think it'll be pretty sweet...). It's the Undead - that's the word I was looking for. Just a little creepy for this mer-girl! No judgment on the fine art itself, just the poor maids... or those who encounter them!

  • this is awesome man
