  • awesome, we played something like this at school once, :38 sounds so familiar. I'm going to put up some more vids soon, could u watch them? I feel like it would help to have the opinion of someone closer to my own level (though still miles ahead)in addition to my teacher's

  • ok sure...i'd love to listen--violin students have to stick together :D

  • This is just fantastic playing...when are you going to start recording. I'd buy five of your first cds as soon as they come out. Please consider it; you could do a compilation of the pieces you placed on youtube in the last year. Please?

  • Yeah, when I got the violin, the guy at the shop asked me if he wanted me to have it thinned down, but I was late for other stuff and had to run. I kind of like it in a way though, because when I play on other full size violins, shifting comes a lot more easily to me. Like, if I can perfect it on my violin, it won't be a problem on anyone else's. And because my violin is so big, it has a gorgeous sound on the lower strings. :D My brother has a Doetsch, and I play on that sometimes.

  • i played on a wilhelm klier 3/4 a few years ago and it was awsome. i've also played on other people's doetschs...they're really nice, too. you can have the fingerboard thinned down and the violin re-adjusted :D

  • Hm, I've never heard of Gliga violins. The shop in my area sells intermediate violins made by three different makers- Dunov, Rudoulf Doetsch, and Wilhelm Klier. I haven't tried the Klier yet, but the Doetsch plays beautifully. I fell in love with the Dunov because of it's dark, incredibly warm tone. Although the only thing I don't like is its size- my full size is a beast compared to other 4/4 violins. And the fingerboard is thicker, so shifting and stuff is a bit harder.

  • i know dunov violins and they're really well made, like the better gliga violins :D

  • hi...i agree, the sound from this violin is super...and i love the piece, too :D
