IAM: Our Background

Most investment firms like to put investors in a box. They want everybody to fit into a mold that works really well for them, but not always so good for the investor. The whole concept of IAM at the beginning, back in 1983 was to make sure that what we are offering is something that we are offering is tailor-made to the individual's needs.

I'm Rich Erwin, founder and president of IAM. I just love the outdoors. I love being out in the sun, the trees and if there is a body of water nearby that makes it even better. What I like to do when I am outdoors I like to bicycle, I like to kayak. I love to fish. My favorite fishing experience is when I go to Northern Michigan once a year. We fish for big, toothy Northern Pike.

But when I'm indoors my true passion is investing. It is a path I've followed since I was nineteen. Followed it right through college to graduate school into a career, that led me to the best decision I ever made, and that was to establish IAM here in Plano, TX twenty-eight years ago.

We have an outstanding facility in Plano, TX on Legacy Drive. Legacy Bank Plaza. Over the years I have worked hard to develop really a professional, caring competent team. I group that I think is exceptional and they are all empowered to really use the IAM SELECT system to meet the needs of clients whether they be investment planning needs or financial planning needs they are there to listen to the client and to make sure we follow through we have the sustainability to do what is right for each and every one of them.

I have watched the markets many decades now, and I have seen lots of fads come and go. What's been proven to me is that true substance and long-term value succeed in the end.
