Windows 7 on Acer Aspire One Netbook

do you think that i should stick with XP though?

cuz this computer is gonna be more like my travel computer

i kinda want it to be quick and ready

and it seems like windows 7 is quick and ready instantly

Yes, you should install RC. Win7 is as fast as, if not faster than XP. In fact, you should consider pre-ordering Win7 now because Microsoft is offering steep discount (over 50% off) for a limited time (expires July 11).

there is no cd/dvd- rom in that pc how did you install it ? :S

I used an external DVD drive. But you can also use USB stick.

All the hardware was working as far as we can tell. We didn't test the web cam though.

I would seriously recommend u too get the RAM upgraded to 2Gigs if u r gonna have multiple windows open!

But even with 1Gigs the Windows 7 Starter Version(For Netbooks) will run absolutely fine...

Any other version is not recommended though!...

how does it run?

I have a dell mini with an intel atom processor, and 1gb of ram.

i know it meets minimum requirements, but does it run well on netbooks?

it's windows 7 Ultimate, if that matters

i install on mine the ubuntu 10.10 they work great and its running better than windows 7 or xp plus it will never goind to get any viruses or to stock.....

everyone knows that when u install fresh windows they work great but after few months they get slower...ubuntu always works good...try and u will see what i mean

My partner and i downloaded Windows7 on my own notebook and it runs flawlessly. I down loaded it via Windows7FreeDLXcom (replace X with . ) and it ran fine.

@wolfshalabh windows xp is better then windows 7 starter, trust me.. on windows 7 starter you cant customize it at all, not even change the screen background it sux
