i think its about religion and hes asking if he can be by gods side w/ jesus (is there room for one more son)and that he needs god to understand all the pain in his life and how "you gotta help me out" refering to god.the i got soul but im not a soldier part is talking about how he feels that although he has the soul that god has given him, he can't fight all of lifes battles by himself. and although there are so many helpless souls(everyones lost)he understands his problems (the battle is won)
