however.. she's stopped running after she uses the shine spark.
games in the past made it look like a means of flight that doesn't stop till she hits something, most recent game makes it look like a increadibly far jump. she can only continue running with this ability is if she hits a slant at no more than a 45 degree angle during the jump/flight of the shine spark.
as for Samus turning with the speed booster, she can turn in wide arcs typicaly
but she does have one means of "Turning".
remember before I said she could instantly stop? here's part 2 of the speed booster, the Shine spark.
after Samus achieves high speeds, if she "Stops" she can somehow take the generated kinetic energy, and kind of "throw" herself in another direction and just as fast as just before she stopped.
If we leave power bombs out of the equation, Samus couldn't take on that many elites all at the same time. that's were tactics come in, doing it the smart way. just like she's known for, or just about any spartan. she's quick enough to get away and make a plan, some how seperate them, hit and run tactics, etc.
@Leri084 To the sword, I'd say that one sword swipe wouldn't hurt her, but do consider that I was talking about a team of Elites with two-four sword units and up to ten additional ones with dual-weildng plasma rifles. It's a very extreme example, but the point being more focused on what it would take to actually bring her down.
Super sonic speeds is what, around 330-700mph+? Are we assuming she has little/no turning ability at that speed because of momentum (as a side thought) ?
@galestin The Flood will only SURVIVE with food, but it's survival rate is apparently thousands or hundreds of thousands of years. There are various Flood forms which don't need a host to form (these being their natural evolutions). Given enough Flood, say the army which their second known Gravemind had on High Charity, Samus would kick their asses until she enevitably got too tired to fight such an overwhelming mass. A full-sized Flood army is thousands+ strong, that's no cake walk...
Samus herself would last longer than a spartan due to her gear. infinite ammo for energy weapons, hundreds of wide ranged area consuming explosives, render herself untouchable to direct contact from flood with the screw attack or speed booster, and a remote callable gunship (that currently is faster than any known Halo ship, unless the UNSC Infinity is all it'll be cracked up to be) that can be used to quickly escape to safety if it really gets bad.
Actually, the energy sword doesn't negate shields, it's just really strong.
I've seen High ranking Elites on normal mode survive a swing from the blade with shields to spare, and players even on Heroic can at least survive a swing from the blade with an over-shield, which is also besides the fact many different types of effects that would have drain "energy" aren't paticularly effective agaisnt Samus' shield, if at all a lot of the times.
that being said, a creature that has the Speed booster ability can blow right into Samus, she takes damage, but however survives with only shielding missing. maybe the field of her armor dampens the blow, but honestly she's been hit by some forces that should have splattered her, I don't know, but she's been hit by masses and forces that should have just outkilled her, even when said force comes from her own abilities or weapons.
I don't know what to say about kinetic force. I see what you mean, but I don't think nintendo thought of it in the slightest when Making her game.
the speed booster is stated to allow her to move at super sonic speeds according to the the manual, normally allowing her to effortlessly plow through even solid surfaces of metal or stone dozens of feat thick and not slow.
more so, she can actually INSTANTLY stop, this should be physically impossible to do without you be killed by the sheer force.
@Leri084 it with a Concussion rifle or needler and you have massive killing potential. As for the Flood, I'm just too stuck on the whole endless army thing, so I'm not sure either of us will convince the other about our opinion on that point.
In summation of what I'm trying to get across, there's factors we have yet to think of and others we can't quantify, but you've held a very strong and well-backed argument and I am glad to have had the chance to engage in debate with you.

she could do a 180 with this ability.

Flood is only as endless as it's food source.
