  • The purpose of the current education system is not to educate but to subjugate.

The biggest problem with education is that the information which would be most useful to the people isn't taught at any school or university. It involves decisions that are made behind closed doors. The only way to gain access to that information is to ingratiate yourself with the corrupt power structures and basically become part of them.

Check out George Carlin on the American Dream...I think you'd enjoy it!

  • You'll never guess this but it's one of my favourites...though I'm not quite as cynical as he is, if only for my own mental health.

  • I love your diamond-pattern-sweater. You're a very funny guy and so are your videos! Thanks!

  • Well, we know that you Austrians - along with the Germans - are world-famous for your sense of humour.

  • Merci pour ta littéraire suggestion. There's a thing I realize recently. The vast majority don't read correctly, that include myself. Most people could, with the right technic, read 400 words/minutes and even more. But the vast majority can only read between 150 and 200 words/min with a low comprehension. Reading is THE basic thing, we should be all able to read 400words/min before university.

  • Thanks. But in fact I don't think the most important thing is to read quickly, except for work or if your job is to review books. For personal culture, I think that the most important thing is to read WELL, i.e. to read with concentration and with complete and entire attention, and thus understand everything that is in the text being read, and to be able to follow an argument if it's a non-fiction text.

  • Ja, abba ... (Yes, but ...)

  • Thanks for this comment. I hope your degree has opened up new perspectives. Good luck with the remaining credits.

  • I'm guilty of that statistic.

Thank you for posting your view point on looking backward after getting denied or supplied insufficient education. I was the child of parents that moved around alot due to military career and divorce. Although I dropped out of high school to join the navy, I did pursue my GED in the service and then my AA degree after leaving the navy in the 1980s. I'm now a few credits short a Bachelor Degree at age 49.

Once again, thanks for the video response.

  • Yes, there are statistics available which show that most people read less than one book a year!
