Gurren Lagann Mekanda robot OP

Gurren Lagann and Mekanda robot have quite a few similarities. Especially the first few seconds of their respective themesongs. Could it be that Gurren Lagann is the Mekanda remake? Some of you Gurren Lagann fans may disagree but look at both mechas and their storylines as well.
I noticed it myself. Anyway, this is my version of the opening song by the awesome Shoko Nakagawa.

I looked it up, and this show doesn't sound remotely like TTGL. On the other hand, it DOES sound pretty awesome. Maybe I'll see if I can find it somewhere...

Actually, Gurren Lagann isn't a remake:

It's one giant shoutout to a whole ton of mecha anime out there, plus its own brand of awesome. So, it's no surprise that it would reference this one, either.
