yes but a person is not really subjectable to pay income tax if you read the constitution carefully... some cases haved argued this and have won.. they are trying to ammend it better..

And yes, we're well aware of the 1848 treaty in which Mexico lost the area now comprising much of the SW US. Mexico controlled that land for only 25 years since it succeeded from Spain in 1821. By 1848, American settlers outnumbered Mexican Settlers in that area by 5-to-1. In any legitimate sense, it was never sovereign Mexican territory.
