The whole point is that when left with purely human knowledge and values we humans botch it. That's what history shows us. If we point out that countries like the Netherlands or the Scandinavian countries are godless and peaceful and happy, one needs to remember that these countries are also benefitting from their Christian heritage the same as America and England are.

I don't know why people think that Dr.Schaeffer is such a 'jerk' or whatnot. Because he's a Christian? Because they believe some Christian conspiracy is in place to control the US or the world? One thing that Schaeffer mentions is that because of an absolute - ie. the Bible and the moral compass it provides - a single person can stand up to a government or a majority and say "You're wrong". This could even be a government that proclaims itself Christian but doesn't act Christ-like.

landsf you cant mean what you say. where it this happening? Any place where societies have turned to the Judeo Christian worldview amazing things have happened - Norway, South Kora, Switzerland and so on and so on. What a silly statement. Why do you say this? Maybe you are bitter toward a single Christian or maybe you are just ignorant. But please consider your opinion again. Christianity is about building a loving and righteous society. Not destorying it.

There is a growing manipulative authoritaian elite. But it's not what most supporters of Schauffer think. Corporate plutocratic interests have since the late 70s married themselves with the Christian right and have manipulated real conerns of faith and moral issues to sway individuals to vote against their own economic interests through fear mongering on moral isues. Its the sickest kind of manipulation, hiding blatant lies behind moral hyperbole, and seeding corruption in plain sight.

@jasonbickford79 Except that the collapse of Christianity has been instrumental in helping to destroy Western Civilization. Haven't you noticed how Europe and America are in steep decline and their native populations will be replaced by largely third-world immigration in the next 50-100 years or less? While you or I may not need religion, it's been shown time and time again throughout history that the masses do. Once this great myth is lost, the civilization dies.

Descriptive morality. It all just comes down to who has power. Who do you believe is the most powerful? Jesus Christ or ... us. What a scary choice! At least I can trust Jesus.
