Dave responds to a recent question, "my takeaway plane is good, but at the top of the backswing my right elbow points behind me, what should I do?".

  • @riverace7 Cool-that's if you have a flying elbow. Ideally you don't have a flying elbow-and you shouldn't have to unless you have a very tight shoulder/back or some sort of shoulder injury. It's much easier to hit good golf shots without a flying elbow! Any q's please ask. All the best, Mark.

  • @Tourswing makes perfect sense

  • Don't aggressively turn the body to solve this! Not sure if that was a mistake by Dave but the arms (and hands) will be even further behind the body at impact. Aggressively swing the arms whilst keeping the body quiet and you have a chance for the hands to reach impact with the body.
