This is video of a local forecast that aired on TWC in November 2001. The name of the song is "Stringbean" by Brian Hughes. This is preceded by the Station ID and succeeded by the Evening Edition Intro, during TWC's "Live By It" on-air campaign that ran from 2001-2005.

  • That was my favorite era!

    Ah, the pre-9/11 days!

  • The "Live by It" era debuted in late June 2001. That was less then 3 months before 9/11. The majority of "Live by It" was after 9/11. This was November 2001, 2 months after 9/11.

  • For some reason, there's a US Flag in the LF open on a November night.Shouldn't it be on in the 4th of July opening?

In addition,i almost forgot this kind of Evening Edition open. This one was more related to going out at night rather than the weather of the evening. And i like the jazzy theme of Evening Edition.

  • The American Flag in the LF introduction was in the wake of 9/11. They used this I think through December of 2001.

  • The song is called "Stringbean" off his "One 2 One" Album

  • Thank you!

  • this is one of the earlier songs i remember on the weather channel, which i started watching just months earlier (TWC HAS to go back to this kind of music, i can stand the ones today!!!)

  • yeah you are right i love the instrumental and smooth jazz music.now the other stuff must of it really stupid.

  • This also my favourite incarnation of the local forecast.

  • Wow, is this in the Birmingham Alabama area? Because I live in Montgomery.

  • That version of the evening edition was used in 2003.

  • probably because Sept. 11 was just two months earlier...

  • i wonder too...sounds familiar...

  • Do you have any WeatherSTAR XL v2 clips with the original 2 minute flavor? If you do please upload, because I have a 10 year old kid who has permission to go on YouTube and misses this version on the XL and the original 2 minute flavor. And please reply to me by clicking on the reply button. Thank You!
