the summer my mom died in a car accident, this song came out right after her passing. She listened to him all the time........that's how I came to know his music. I have a wide variety of music tastes....but he is timeless....and this song takes me back to that sad summer when I lost my mom.....

@DestroyerofSouls666 I commend you for saying that. I too grew up in the 80's and the music was so much better. The "musicians" today have very little talent by comparison.

Ahhh...Ronnie Milsap. A new singer, Hunter Hayes er I think that is his name, is singing this classic as he tries to show his skills....and the kids does pretty good...but Ronnie still owns this song..always will.

we can accept that our assumptiona about others is not accurate and learn to revise it - which is more likely to happen if we and the person ‘assumed about’ are willing to understand that assumptions are made all the time and we sometimes make mistakes and get them wrong

I'm not abig country music fan but Ronnie Milsap is one of the few singers who is always perfectly on key and thats hard to find nowdays. I always appreciate great talent no matter what type music it is. He is a special talent!!

@friscofreeze yes i agree for 99%, the only 1% i dont agree with you about is selena gomez, that little girl can sing like a little musical angel!! i love her!!, but im with you on every one else!! the rest of them suck ass!!
Back in the early 80s, you heard such a wide variety of music on Top 40: crossover country, pop, soft rock, hard rock, dance, new wave, soul, r&b. The point is, there was something for everyone. I miss those days.
Today, its all teenybopper crap, autotuned divas and second-rate hip hop garbage. I realize that tastes change with each generation, but why can't our kids get exposed to songs with real harmonies, professional musicianship, and subtle, smut-free lyrics? Is that too much to ask?
