This is a follow up video of the one that shows serious smog in Hong Kong created by a hugh amount of pollutants blown from China (shot a few weeks ago).
The huge difference between the level of smog is believed to be due to a change in wind direction. In the previous video, the serious smog in Hong Kong was a result of wind blowing from the north west directly from China.
Fu Shan, an area in China, which is a highly polluted hosting a lot of heavy industries, such as steel refinery and car making, is located in the north west of Hong Kong.
This video, which is shot on May 30, 2007, shows exactly the same location in Tuen Mun, New Territories, Hong Kong. However, there is no smog at all. Despite the weather being cloudy, one can still see some blue sky very clearly. The buildings behind the small hill can be seen very clearly too.
Today's wind is blowing from the south, that is, from the sea. The wind blows clean air upward to Hong Kong and then into China so that the pollutants produced in Fu Shan are blown further north and hence does not affect Hong Kong.
The SAR government and some so-called researchers have falsely and purposely lied about the source of air pollution in Hong Kong. The general public now wrongly believes that the main source of air pollution is from the power plants of the CLP in Hong Kong. This is obviously a big misconception.
One can use Yuen Long as a good example to show that the assertion of the SAR government is faulty. Yuen Long is located in the north east of Tuen Mun where the power plant is located. Yet, when wind blows from the north west, the smog is extremely serious in Yuen Long. Today, for instant, when the wind blows from the south, there is virtually no pollution in Yuen Long. This according to the false assertion of the SAR government is impossible! Clearly, the government has been intentionally lying about the source of pollution, namely, Mainland China.
In recent years, the number of illegal power plants in Mainland China has mushroomed and yet because of serious corruption, the majority of these illegal power plants has never be prosecuted. My estimation of the rate of increase in air pollution in Guang Dong is at least 25-30% a year! The air pollution in Hong Kong has therefore increased by at least 2-3 times for the past 5-6 years.
The SAR government is indeed faulty and vile in masquerading the truth regarding main source of pollutants in hk. However, you cannot jump into conclusion that such pollutants are produced due to China's ill-governed nature.

It has been known to international media and scientists that Mainland China is the #1 polluter in the world.
My own research in the the past few years also confirms that Hong Kong's pollution is due mostly to the pollutants from Mainland China!
