Here's Paul Kwo playing an original freestyle piano improv. This was completely free with no preplanning involved. Baffled Dawning is a high intensity improv to provoke listeners. It then resolves temporarily to the dawning of a slower progression of it's thematic elements. Finally returns in a compromise of the two worlds.

Paul Kwo's original freestyle piano improvs are totally free without any sort of safety net. He improvises on the moment to whatever he is hearing in his mind and heart. • This is great, where can I learn how to play avant garde like this?

  • @JackETProductions None of my teachers taught me improv though. It was just something I wanted to do, and I combined my classical piano training with my classical composition training. I decided to focus my musical output to all sorts of improv music and do teach some improv whenever I teach piano. I don't know of any really developed curriculum on avant-garde piano improv though.

  • @ennivzarf Can you tell me what composers you took influence from?

  • @JackETProductions

that's a loaded question. I just play based on everything that i have ever came across. I love all sorts of music. I mean there are some that I love more then others, but then I take things from tons and tons of composers and styles and genres. Now I just go with the idea more then who I'm trying to be like...just more of a what sound is going through my head at the moment.

  • Very nice piece! Really enjoyed it! :)

  • @Draym104 Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
