It was so nice watching this. Thanks so much, I enjoyed all of this. Just watching Chicos emotions were funny. Such natural comics! I also loved Harpos angry face. HAHA the wheezing was hilarious!
I've read the script for the "Deputy Seraph" pilot (published in "The Television Scripts of Phillip Rapp," which you can find on Amazon), and it's really pretty good. The central conceit is quite clever, and it's obvious that Rapp had a great deal of affection for the Brothers and understood their characters. If this series had been attempted five or ten years earlier, I think something good could have come of it.
if only Harpo and Chico's health wasn't in such bad shape. This series would have been a HIT! The unmade film "A Day at The United Nations" could also have been made.
Sadly,Mr.Chico Marx was suffering from Hardening of the
arteries. He had trouble remembering his lines and the medical insurance co. said"We're not going to insurance Chico"..so you can't do this Marx Brothers tv show.
I've read about this pilot and the proposed series it was supposed to have launched. This was to have been a Harpo & Chico venture, with them appearing only at the beginning and end of each episode. Their "heavenly assignments" would have required them to assume identities of "other people" on Earth while fulfilling their missions; hence, "guest stars" would have the majority of screen time in each episode, while exhibiting certain "mannerisms" of Harpo & Chico from time to time...
never saw this before. thanks
