2010 Mercedes E-Class Estate Press Conference at Frankfurt

Mercedes has officially unveiled the 2010 E-Class Estate at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

While the exterior is predictable and familiar, Mercedes says the designers used long horizontal lines to emphasize the car's practicality and sportiness. Other design details include black B and C-pillars (which "disappear" into the privacy glass), attractive character lines, prominent wheel arches, and new LED taillights.

We have a 1997 E300TD with 191,000miles on the clock. This inline six cylinder 3 litre turbo diesel can obtain 35mpg (UK gallons). Average mpg we get is around 30mpg, and I drive enthusiastically.

As it is getting on a bit, we are about to purchase a 2010 E250 CDI Blue Effeciency. On a day long test drive I could easily obtain 45mpg, hypermiling skills could hit 55mpg on the highway. Guess those monkeys will stretch your ass.

@rocksinger45 , For Christ's sake, this is no gas-guzzler! It's a midsize wagon, not some hulking SUV. The diesel variants achieve 40mpg and the smaller gasoline versions get in the 30's. And Merc wagon drivers arent snobs.
