People who practice extreme land privatization have done the most damage to the wild animals & the world's ecosystems. We can blame poor, uneducated Indigenous people for "cutting down their forests" or for having too many kids, etc. But the fact of the matter is, most of the world's last, large herds of wild animals are only found in societies where there are still large swaths of un-privatized lands where there are still Indigenous people, who are, sadly, also being squeezed by "civilization."
