The Story of my Talon Tsi

I purchased a 95 eagle talon tsi awd in the summer of 2009 after graduating High school. I did some minor modifications, bigger injectors, 14b turbo, 20lbs of boost, safc tuning, pulled like a sombish. Then disaster struck, I threw a rod out my stock block. So 6 bolt swap time it is. Kept every thing stock for a stock rebuild. My intentions are cheap and reliable. Cleaned all engine components, new wiseco rings, honed block, cometic hg, arp headstuds, oem 6 bolt pistons and rods. Gonna be running 14b for the break in period then ill slap the 18g on and get a tune.

2g pistons were shattered from the snapped connecting rod.I used 1g pistons because it was cheap and lower compression. and yea i used my 2g head but it has some bent valves and its in the shop write now. awaiting dsmlink ad a tune.

Just bought a Eagle talon tsi Awd the only problem was its automatic but switched the transmission for 600bucks and she runs like a beauty

If you used a rattle can to paint the car, can you tell me how the paint on the front bumper held up? Is it cracking or chipping? I paid some guy 400 to do my bumper and it look like shit 2 years later, huge chips and it peels right off.

well i think hes done with the build but yes i agree should have kept the 2g pistons high comp the better and 1g isnt that much lower 8.5-1 vs 9-1 on a 2g which is better and would let you hit boost sooner. but o well nice build hope it lasts mine just went out and now im dealing with the same but i cant go cheap

i have a tsi conquest but am having problems cuz it doesnt get the fuel that it needs to give me the full boost power n afriend toll me hat i need a SAFC

Nice to see the 6 bolt swap but it's to bad you didn't use 2g pistons...they are stronger than the 1g pistons, 2g pistons on machined 1g rods are a killer setup for a cheap rebuild. Did you use the 2g head by chance?
