Corporations are artificial entities that were never intended to be permanent. Unless they have a heartbeat and breathe, they are not people and are not entitled to the same rights as people.

Yeah, well even Ron Paul said that corporations are not people. No matter where you stand they have no business in politics like the agribusiness company Monsanto. Corporate power is so part of the problem!

So corporations know what is better for the people than the people themselves? Campaign donations represent a PERSON'S right to support a particular campaign. The first amendment should not and does not protect a non-living organization. It protects PEOPLE. Citizens United is an obvious attempt to give corporations even more power over people. And it should go.

Your comment makes sense but for the fact that the mainstream media outlets that most people get to see their candidates on are owned by some of the same corporations. That means that whoever they don't agree with isn't given the air time so the people never get to see these other candidates and never get to know their positions on the relevant issues. Don't believe me? Do a search for this article. "Major time imbalances pointed to in CNN-moderated Democratic debate" by

    Michael Roston.

i agree that corporations are not the same as people and they do have too much power but isn't it the people who are giving them that power? and just because they spend billions of dollars telling you who do vote for isn't the final vote up to you? They can campaign all they want, but it's up to the people to make the vote.

I'm not pro life or anything, but it still just baffles me that we don't consider a human fetus, wiht human dna and person, yet a corporation can have the same rights as you and I.

I disagree. In my opinion, a good form of government should take into account that we are living on a planet with limited resources and which also values the richness in species (biodiversity), while at the same time (and under these constraints) strives to maximize individual freedom and allows the people to live a fulfilling life. Capitalism doesn't do that.
