@ErikaDeeAnne He won a Grammy for it in 1959. I am a child of the 80s, and this song got played so often at our house when I was a kid that I had no idea it was already more than 20 years old. Good music is timeless. This song is a true classic.

It is nice to know that I am not the only one who feels this way. If we could only turn back the hands of time. At least we can step back in time to wonderful music like Marty's El Paso.

Sometimes I watch stuff like this and I actually cry while yearning for days that are so long gone.

I just saw a short film named "The Road to Nashville", and this was the version that was in the movie. It was made in 1967. Great movie.

I grew up in El paso and this was a favorite and at that time made me proud of all the movies and music and very well known Sheriffs of the Old West.
What can you say.......... FLAWLESS. A true classic. This song belongs to Marty Robbins for eternity. What a God-given voice that man had.

Awesome song! My grandpa went out west after WW2 playing in western bands back when everything followed the rodeos. He told alot of stories about Marty and some of the other folks that made it from those days. Marty was actaully quite fond of my grandmother, but she came back east with my grandpa. Of course this was years before he got famous, but pretty cool none the less!
