Yes this is a coincidence in the same way that litterally billions of other coincidences happen all over this planet and undoubtably all over the universe on a d as ily basis. The very fact that life evolved & progressed to this stage happened purely by chance just has life will have evolved on other planets eleswhere purely by chance. Its not such a hard thing to comprehend if you think on it.

This is when religion and atheists comes in the picture. This is to answer your question at the end. I think that this phenomenon isn't just our own, we still don't know and can't even comprenhend or realize or even prove the vastness of the universe. We don't even know if our reality is the only reality. We don't even know what time is. We can only try to figure it out by distance in moment and space. I like the job you did!!!! We should always ask questions as to enlighten our ignorance :)

The distance is measured in lunar distances, so is inevitable to be at X times that distance. There are certain distances at witch you can orbit a round object thus once again it is inevitable to fall on a pattern. This is why math is useful... :)
