Doomed ladybird.m4v

I saw something moving in the bowl of the standard lamp in our living room, and looked inside it for the first time in two years. There were a few dead harlequin ladybirds and a couple that weren't dead yet.

Not quite sure why I felt compelled to go get my camera and then stand and film it for 5 minutes. But I did. Something a bit macabre about it and kind of tragic. And probably a bit sick - I mean I should probably have just killed it straight away. I was just transfixed by it.

If you look closely you can see a line where the dust stops, that shows how high that ladybird and its predecessors have been able to climb up the bowl. (And yes, if my mum sees this she will tell me to clean the lamp more often.)

Still - nice to know there is something that you can get from Ikea that actually kills these horrible little monsters.
