the noice come from the fuel filter which is too dirty, change it the noice will be gone.it is always happens when fuel filter need change, don't use the toyota parts, try different brand of fuel filter.actualy, it is small problem,if you don't want to change it, the car still working fine, anyway, the noice will become big noice during winter time.

Hi cheetzie, you are more than welcome,my howling noise has returned now,but costs too much to have done (out of g/tee)...so live with noise :-(.
Happy to help

Hi, Yes i had the exact same annoying noise from my d-4d since i had a full service, It started very quiet and intermittent and over the last couple of months got louder and more frequent (mainly from cold start) Thanks to your video, i was happy to take it back to Toyota where they checked their system to find out that it was revised and changed it for me under warranty. Peace and quiet again. :-)

@bigrubsie ,hi again...yes the very same has happened to me im afraid, although im actually doubtfull that my local toyota dealership actually changed the faulty ' cap'.
as stupidly i didnt get a ' worksheet ' to prove the work had been done, but it did smell of diesel badly when i got the vehicle back...a good sign.
i am a member of the toyota owners club.....' RAV4' forum, try on there for any advise,i lived with mine & so have many others :-(..internationally.
sounds like it rubbing somewhere
