One of Hollins' oldest and most beloved traditions, Tinker Day has been celebrated virtually every fall since 1896. The 2011 event, held on October 25, featured a twist: a surprise "invasion" of performers dressed in artist Nick Cave's colorful, wearable sculptures. The "soundsuits" were part of an exhibition of Cave's work at Roanoke's Taubman Museum of Art.
