I admire Kang's persistence on not trying to follow the norm and trying to elevate film making. Yall gotta remember that he usually has no budget and that his actors are not full time actors. His crew are all volunteers. I bet you if a big company gave him a big budget to shoot a movie, you'd be surprise at the outcome. It's hard to make a good movie without any money, but he's done a good job so far, let's hope a big producer recognizes his talent..

Thanks man. I really appreciate your words. We are students of the art, and are driven by our passion to create something that will benefit our community. Even if we make no money from this, we know that we followed our gut and did things our way. Most people take this sort of energy for granted. Thanks again for the support.

It's ok yangx273. It's unfair that we Hmong filmmakers are expected to make better films than Hollywood to be acknowledged. You don't see these kids like supermusicman going around on forums posting about other movies, and how they are copies of other movies. Nope. They come right back to their own people. We artists are the sacrificial lambs of our community. We try to do something positive for our people, but our our own brothers and sisters will be the first ones to try to bring us down.

Hi Kang, When would you start using 24p?
Or are you avoiding that for now?
chingvang559 2 years ago
I actually shot this movie in 24p, however it wasn't necessary. I would shoot it in 24 if I were to transfer it to film in the future.
