@elcabrone I´m with you, Nia´s version is far superior though Patti sings great too. This song also makes me feel chills all over, there´s something magic about it. Besides, the episode she sang it in was very haunting too.

was just a kid when 'Fame' was on but had the biggest crush on Nia Peeples that I didn't breathe every time the show was on. when Nicole (Nia's character) was killed off I bawled like a big baby. and when they played bits of her singing this beautiful song after her death has stayed with me all these years later. too bad Peeples never recorded this songl. her voice is perfect. no disrespect to Pattil Labelle's original but this version is the one that still haunts me today.

Damned if her family name wasn't Peebles at the time?

Decades has passed, S Fox was as sexy as it got, but still I remember your name, flat out, after 20 years+. Of course, she (S.F.) couldn't hold a match to you. Nah, I'm not a stalker, but I had a keen eye on you in the late 80's. All the best, love from me and Sweden!

This was so great, I grew up watching it too & Nia was my Idol, so amazing we all wanted to be her! lol

@childsweethearts I'll do that. I am an Osmond fan. THNX!

@Atruladi I think it's the best song on Fame, too. But check out Jimmy osmond's"We All Belong To Love" on youtube, which he sang on Fame. I think that's pretty good, also.

@lisa9330 I saw Nia Peeples sing this song in person years ago at the Osmond studios when they used to do the telethon there. She sang and danced so beautifully. The song and melody always stayed with me, also. I'm not sure that I even knew she was on Fame until later. But her beauty, song and dance really stood out.
I grew up watching Fame- a time when real talent was celebrated- no filters on the voice! For some reason this song- the lyrics and melody always stayed with me. I used to think Nia Peeples was so pretty and when she sang this I thought it was so great. It's a nice nostalgic thing- too bad the video quality is so dated- but glad it's here.

@lisa9330
(uploader) She's gorgeous and she sure can belt out a song. When she comes back to the mic after dancing--those first few notes give me goosebumps every time!
