A girl I know had a pandora type bracelet on which are really expensive and everyone i know has fake ones...so i said 'love your 'pandora' bracelet ;)' and she was like...'my dad bought it for me...it's real'......'oh'.......

It was in sex ed class and my lesbian friend didn't know what a dental dam was. I told her she should probably look into it if she wanted to go through with the whole gay thing.........................
........... I was trying to be really helpful and everything and funny... But i just felt like a real bitch :(

Idk if kids count but my (7 yo) nephew asked me "why are you talking like that?" I was kinda experimenting and switched my Texan accent to an even more Texan one, so I did sound rather stupid. Then later he was trying to be funny, I gave a fake laugh and he asked "why are you laughing like that." Children are the epitome of tactlessness hehe

I told a girl at prom that her her looked really nice, which would have been a good point to stop, but then i said "because it looks like you haven't done anything with it". By which I meant it looks natural but still great. I hated the look on her face though. So embarassed!

well, sometimes im a bit tactless as well. I was with my aunt in a shop and i went straight to a carpet (which was quite ugly to be faire) and said :"haha, look at that, that is so ugly! who would ever by this?"
guess which carpet she picket two days before to put into her living room?
i dont think she believed me when i said i ment it as a joke... hm. dont know why!

To a girl he quite liked at the time, an aquaintance (not really a friend) of mine said "you're very attractive, you should be a pornstar". It was truly embarassing just to watch!

@toddmakesnoise LOL. Your really made my day.

I'm generally a pretty kind person but I remember like four years ago my swim team had a fun day to play water polo. This girl did something wrong or against the rules, can't recall. But afterwords I was talking to some of my other friends, mentioned the girl by name, and complained about her. Then I realized she was standing ten feet away. I tried to pull it off like I was talking about someone else but I don't think she fell for it. I still feel badly.

As for me, I typically make sure to be tactful, but quite recently my friend and I were walking around a clothing shop. As we were walking out, she kicked the side of my leg as a joke, but it really hurt, and I said something to the effect of "Oow, are you trying to make me a cripple?!" But right as I said that we walked past a disabled person in a wheelchair. I felt so terrible, and was kicking myself the rest of the day.

I try and let them know... but normally i just don't say anything xD

I used to be ridiculously obsessed with Extras and The Office (a.k.a. awkward comedy to the max). And one day we were in class and a girl was talking about how her new kitten was hiding in the dryer... right when she did a load of laundry. So of course we're sitting in silence and I just KNEW we were all thinking about the poor dead kitten. THAT was an awkward silence if I've ever known one. I couldn't help it. I burst out laughing.
Needless to say everyone in that class thinks I'm a psycho.

I do have a friend who is always tactless, but I find it hilarious. My friends and I usually look at her and exclaim her name, but we don't mind. However apparently a lot of people don't appreciate it
-
I think people that are tactless ALL the time just tend to have passive-aggressive personalities because of low self-esteem. Usually I won't say anything about their rude comments, I just avoid spending time with them. Everybody accidentally says something tactless every once in a while though.
-
@toddmakesnoise: Things must have surely not been the same lol! :D
-
"No nooo, you're not phat. You're just too short for your weight."
Erm, okay.
I'm bad at being tactful, instead, I try to be honest in a creative way, after all, half the truth is not a lie: "I love how distinctive your laugh is" <- Never said I likes the laugh itself. Or "I hardly notice it" <- Then again, I don't care about food stains...
-
im really tactless. its good to point it out nicely & then forgive..

LOL! That's absolutely priceless.

increase the base volume of this one... I had to turn system volume to max and am HOPING the people I'm skyping won't say anything...
I have a gift for saying tactless things. Case in point: When I was 16, my high school Spanish teacher told us she had to take maternity leave. As all the students complained about how much they would miss her, she said "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do---I can't teach when I'm having a baby!"
To which I replied: "You could have an abortion"
Things between us were never the same again...

Man I'm in a foul mood today, my apologies for the above comment.
There is actually nothing wrong with your forehead... I'm just a dick.
