Martin, Patty and I set off on an attempted ride from Silecroft to St Bees. A trip of around 30 miles up the cumbrian coast. It was quite an eventful trip to say the least. Patty blew a binding at Eskmeals gun range and had to walk to Bootle. Martin and I carried on. When we set of the wind was fairly light with forecast to pick up. I was on the 12m Nazca II, Martin on the 8m Nazca II and Patty on the 9m SS Rev. By the time we reached Eskmeals it was nuking, too much for Patty on the 9m, fortuantely for us the Nazca II's spill wind like you wouldn't believe. We got as far as Sellafield and Martin had a kitemare and an NDE. Not good. We sorted out the mare and decided to call it a day as it was super windy, raining and getting dark. We walked to the train station and there where no trains and the phonebox was cards only. The Sellafield police where kinda suprised when a couple of kiters in wetsuits turned up with surfboards and kites asking "Do you have a public phone box in the main gate marra?". It was quite an eventfull evening to say the least. The Helmet cam does not do the trip justice. It was super knarly with same pretty big waves. Stuart checked the wind reading on the chimney at Sellafield at the time we got off the beach and it measured 49.1mph max.....
