The back up singer should be shot. Other than that its not too bad, however it might have sounded a lot better if you waited for maybe a month or two to get a bunch more practices in.

There's nothing wrong with doing what you're doing. What you are doing is like what I do with guitar covers and what others do with guitars, drums.. vocals.. you're just putting it all together and going out there with it. Like your enthusiasm :)
