What are the benefit of using a stainless steel pan over a non-stick or cast-iron pan? With eggs, chicken, stir fry ect.....

Non-Stick:
Pros - Easy cleanup, no sticking
Cons - Coating is potential hazardous to health when overheated; coating only lasts 2-3 years before you need to replace the pan; reduced ability to brown meats
Stainless Steel is superior to non-stick pans in just about every way except for ease of cleaning. Part of what I intended to demonstrate in this video was that with a proper cooking method clean-up and sticking is really not that bad in Stainless. I also love cast-iron.

Hi wiselad -- great video! Couple of quick questions for you -- what size pan are you using, and how many eggs? I've read a lot of arguments for 8" vs. 10", 2 eggs vs. 3 eggs, etc. Thanks so much!

Hey Thanks. The pan I'm using in the video is a 10 inch fry pan. I used two large eggs. For me this seems to be just the right size based on how thick I want my eggs. I can put more fillings in the omelet without it being overwhelming. Three eggs is definitely doable in the 10" pan if you are hungrier. Two eggs is about the most you can easily do in an 8" pan.

Thank you for posting this as I've always failed at cooking omelets on stainless steel pans. I tried this and right away the butter burned so I had to reduce the heat and try again. I have a gas stove so maybe med-low (on the hotter side) was just too hot so I kept it on low and turned it to medium once I added the egg. It was perfect so THANK YOU!!!

I was screwing up omelet's very badly before, could never get a decent one without it turning to scrambled. Followed this method, except I flipped the omelet for a brief few seconds before adding extra's, came out amazing, best fucking omelet I've ever made. Thanks.

They are very dark mushroom-like onions. Haha, no you got me. I did put mushrooms in that omelet. But it was both onions and mushrooms, I just forgot to say mushrooms.

Hi Wiselad, love this series! No one caters to the bachelor. This video helped me make my decision to go stainless. Do you plan on making more videos?
