Jerry was more versatile in styles at least openly. Roy played hell out of banjo and I have heard from some people who know him he was very accomplished in Chet and Merle type finger work but prefered flat picks. Its not hard to imagine it being true with his natural ability to play damn near anything. And he was in 3 movies one with Mel Tillis.

Maybe Jerry did a few movies, but ol' Roy did it on TV every week for 23 years, and is still goin' strong in Branson!

Smokey and the Bandit(top movie of 77 next to Star Wars), Smokey 2, Gator, WW and the Dixie Dancekings, Bat 21, The Survivors, The Waterboy. He wrote songs for and played on Elvis' records wrote songs that Johnny Cash and Porter Wagonner recorded. Recorded instrumental records with Chet Atkins.

I love this song, and I love his voice + guitar. This guy has earned the right to play this song with Chet... and they did a damn good job :P
