@adamboeing737 Well, to be exact that's what happens if you open an armed door. If you manage to open a door on a pressurized aircraft, it would open with an explosive force towards you (probably injuring you) and the flight attendant probably standing inside next to the door could get sucked out.

@pilot588 the shoe is a safety device so the aircraft door doesn't touch (get ripped off) from the aerobride. The plane moves up and down with cargo/passengers moving on/off, the shoe just drops the bridge and sets off a warning
