Terrorism is an acceptable tactic when foreign invaders conquer your country. The french used it, the american revolutionarys, where it not for the soviet and yugoslavian partisans we would all be speaking german right now, the vietnamese, the Montagnards, the PIRA, ETA, the Irgun.

The US Government should do more for their "Issues". GI's shouldn't be used, abused, and thrown aside which has become the cultural standard. Only those with legacies in the military rise in rank and keep some sort of dignity. The majority are thrown out and forgotten. There should be a "reintegration" program to sensitize the GI's and perhaps help justify their previous actions and make them come to terms with high pressure arrangements that brought the worst out in them - as normal.

Hopefully this surge works in training and building up Afghan forces to battle terrorists and secure the country. Its good to know that there is a timeline so the public has an idea when the troops will be leaving afghanistan and iraq. That was the best part about Obamas speech about the conflict in Afghanistan.

Look at the veterans of WW2, Vietnam, and now Iraq. Over the years, our military has become soft. WW2 veterans never spoke of what they saw. Vietnam vets...sometimes spoke. Iraq vets...talk to much. Why? Because liberal politicians got a bug up their ass and turned our once great military into a more "gentle" military. Its war, people. Not a fucking vacation.
