  • well of course the laptop won for fucks sake people you need to set up a rig that is even on all specs expect the gpu to get the best results for any form of comparison.

  • hahaha. voodoo5 is much slower than even a geforce 2 gts. (in direct3d at least)

using a game from 1999 dont use the most tiny-iny portion of the 9600's power.

  • I don't get it, neither of these machines will be taxed by this ancient game. the Voodoo 5 is garbage now.

  • It's a 9600M!!! Not the same as a full 9600 GT

  • the performance of the voodoo 5 when you take out any processor limitation of the time was very competitive performer.

the best feature of course is the anti aliasing which dosent need the game to be specifically written to exploit it. unlike current aa.

it does have a big performance hit.

but on an athlon xp with decent amount of ram, not a problem.

have a matrox g450 a very under rated card, exceptional image quality probably one of the best cards of the era just a bit cpu heavy for its time

  • no suprised it looks better under the voodoo i have a voodoo 5500 as well, and a sli voodoo 2, voodoo 3 and a rush hercules stingray 128 tv.

most games of that era were glide based, which was the best way to run a game, it affectively ran like risc does but as a reduced graphical instruction set, increasing speed and features compared with directx that just couldnt compete at 16 or 24 bits.

what killed 3dfx was not going scaling up from 16bit quickly enough like matrox, nvidia or ati.

  • In those days, when 3dfx was around, Unreal & UT in 3dfx 16bit(22bit) looked far more better then any ATi/nV in 32bit. They were leaders in 3D and in 2D quality/performance and that's a fact.

I have modern Ati hd 5850 card and Unreal still looks worst (32bit with hi-res textures), then in 3dfx Glide.

In example above it looks like laptop with geforce needs a little tweaking, but it will never look great like 3dfx Glide.

  • @kawaiifreak860 Lower Dynamic contrast makes is look like its brightness or sometimes its position the lower the screen is it looks darker also wtf brightness has to do with this video he was comparing graphics and overall performance ?

  • @CrAzY3AGL3

    >Dynamic contrast

    >Talking about LCD quality

Did you even read my comment fucktard? :3

  • @kawaiifreak860 Ever heard on Dynamic Contrast ? look my laptops has 40000:1 and my monitor 50000:1 next time please get your facts straight not all the Lcd screens are the same quality.
