Mission: Impossible Opening Montage 1

Each episode of Mission: Impossible featured a unique opening. Clips from the upcoming show were edited together in the fast-paced style of Lalo Schrifrin's brilliant theme song and played before the opening credits. Here, I have edited together the intros to six episodes, showing the match lighting only on the first episode and the opening credits for the sixth episode only.

These were recorded by me on VHS off television in 1992-93 and edited together on an iMac using iMovie HD. The episodes featured here are from the second and third seasons.

Phelps was brilliant! In one episode he says "I'm just a chemist!" In another he opens up his overcoat to show weapons on both sides and says, "By now you'd both be dead!" One of the best had him yelling "Mr. name is Morgan! I'm a PRODUCE WHOLESALER!" Within seconds of getting assignment he's figured out how to wreck the bad guys! Like all the minds in MENSA would be hopelessly stumped but not Jim Phelps!

I really like the 1988 verison simply because it's more modern with better character. The theme song at that time kicks butt!
