So she rather be a rock star hum?! I would never guess this from Dame Kiri and since I'm a fan of both ladies I think this is interesting... she has a jazz side, I wonder if she has a rock side as well... I'd love to see that :)

Yes, she could sing rock if it were Pat Benetar songs. She could just take her Donna Elvira interpretation at the final dinner scene and sub in the lyrics for "Treat Me Right" and voila! Imagine her in the chain mail suit from Beyond Thunderdome?!! Awesome! Isnt this part of the interview from the South Bank show with Melvin Bragg circa early 1990's? Is there any more?

Yes, I believe that's correct; this is part of her Portrait, a dvd made of awesomeness :)

By the way, I satisfied my curiosity about her children, they appear in the documentary, thanks anyway...

As for imagining her in Thunderdome, I can but it would be a different character because THAT Auntie is part character and part Tina Turner herself. Nonetheless I believe she would have a blast if she had the opportunity to make something of the kind and that would be wonderful to see.

I agree that the "Auntie" part is part of Tina Turner but I think Kiri could pull it off as an advert for Opera (in general). Lose the 30 and get the pistol crossbows ready! She is tall and strong enough to pull it off. What do you think?

I still say she can cover some of Pat Benetar's slower numbers like "Treat Me Right" and "We Live For Love". She could really do "Dont Let it Show" It has that nice legato that her voice does so well.
